Jimba

I heard a talk today that mentioned Jimba, reportedly the most famous elephant in the history of the Barnum and Bailey circus. According to the speaker, Jimba had been conditioned to believe he could not break loose of even a small rope tied around his leg. As a result, he almost died in a circus fire, until his trainer shouted assurances to Jimba that Jimba could escape. Jimba broke loose, and ran smiling to a little girl who had spotted the trapped animal. I searched Google in vain for any account of any elephant named Jimba. Does anyone have information on Jimba?
